Some of Ben’s favorite childhood memories were spent on his grandmother’s couch in rural Ohio looking through old photo albums and asking about the faces that he saw. Those photos held stories that extended beyond the edge of the frame and hinted at a life lived. It formed a foundational understanding of what great photography does. It tells the viewer a story. Phases of life, moments and places worth remembering, a glimpse of the present preserved for the future.
Ben works in documentary and portraiture styles and is currently working on a long-term project about American Rodeos. He has had his work featured at the Armory Show in Art in America, the New York Times and the very local North Salem Post.
